Whales & Whiskey: Fundraiser Party
Wednesday, November 6th, 2019
Time: 5:30-8:30pm
In support of Whale Week 2.0 in December, "Whales & Whiskey" will be a night of good food by Bubba Gumbo's and Lulu's Chocolate Bar, drinks, live auction, and music by DJ [ ] one! Come out and help raise funds and awareness for the NARW!


Family Night with Tybee Island Maritime Academy
Wednesday, December 4th, 2019 
Time: 5:30-7pm
STEAM curriculum, NARW focused projects will be created by the students at the Tybee Island Maritime Academy and will be shared with friends and family. The Tybee Island Marine Science Center will also participate by displaying artifacts and whale calf replicas. This programming will teach students and their families about the NARW.

Friends & Family Night with Loop-it-Up
Thursday, December 5th, 2019
Time: 5-7pm
Loop-it-Up will design STEAM curriculum focused on the NARW that will be implemented in several local schools for Whale Week. The Tybee Island Marine Science Center will also participate by displaying artifacts and whale calf replicas. This programming will teach students and their families about the NARW

Savannah Arts Academy hosts Film Truth Productions

Savannah Arts Academy will be hosting Film Truth Productions for a special screening of "Follow the Journey" along with a Q&A for their film students. Open to SAA students only.

First Friday at Sulfur Studios

Location: Sulfur Studios
Time:  6-9pm
Whale Week will be part of December's First Friday activities thanks to Sulfur Studios! Come out for some holiday shopping of Right Whale themed gifts made by local artists and learn more about our majestic state marine mammal from Tybee Marine Science Center and Oceana!

"Whale Alert!" Book Reading with illustrator Tara Garrigan
Saturday, December 7th, 2019 
Time: 3 - 5pm 
Join us at TIMSC for a special reading of Angela Kakabeeke and Emily Slusher's book, "Whale Alert! Tybee Craddock and the Endangered Right Whale." Illustrator Tara Garrigan will be reading the story of Tybee Craddock and Captain Savannah and signing copies of the book!

Thunderbolt Holiday Boat Parade

"Follow The Journey of the North Atlantic Right Whale"
Movie Preview & Community Conversation

Location: Tybee Post Theater

Award winning filmmakers Liz Witham and Ken Wentworth are currently producing a documentary about the endangered North Atlantic right whale. They will give a multi-media presentation about this iconic species, show select scenes from their upcoming film and talk about what it was like to work with the leading scientists as they followed 7 calves over 2,000 miles for one year, from their calving grounds in Florida and Georgia to the Canadian Maritimes. Learn what you can do to support their efforts to raise awareness about the North Atlantic right whale, the organizations that are working to protect them and the FOLLOW THE JOURNEY documentary.  

Retail Spaces
Retail Locations where you can purchase North Atlantic Right Whale merchandise have been added this year.  It's a perfect time of year to grab a few whaley cool gifts!  These locations will launch items for Whale Week and stock is only while supplies last.
