Description: A panel discussion with women working in North Atlantic right whale and ocean conservation. From science and policy to art and organizing, hear about how women are leading the charge to protect endangered North Atlantic right whales. In this panel, you will hear from:
- Kelsey Leonard, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Environment at the University of Waterloo, Water scientist, Legal scholar, Policy Expert, Writer, and Enrolled Citizen of the Shinnecock Nation.
- Regina Asmutis-Silvia, Executive Director and Senior Biologist at Whale and Dolphin Conservation.
- Alexis Pauline Gumbs, Queer Black Feminist Love Evangelist, aspirational cousin to all life, and Author of Undrowned: Black Feminist Lessons from Marine Mammals.
- Moderated by Hermina Glass-Hill, Georgia Field Representative for Oceana, Director of Whale Week, eco-harmony advocate, ocean conservationist, and cultural historian.
